Dear Clare and all at
Ceilidh Stomp, Wayne and I would like to say that we are absolutely
delighted to have had you as our band at our wedding, the music was
fantastic and energetic and resulted in some fast and furious dancing,
just what we wanted! We could see that you guys really enjoy playing and
that reflected in the brilliant music. Thanks for your superb calling
Clare – it isn’t an easy task filling a large dance floor and you were
brilliant, not to mention very patient and slightly bemused but
completeley accepting of our antics on the dancefloor :). You read the
room perfectly, a bunch of energetic daft people out for a good knees
up. We asked for a rocking loud ceilidh (which we got!) but but we have
every confidence that if we wanted something a bit more sedate, you
would have easily accommodated us and reading some of the testimonials,
we can see that you are incredibly adaptable.
On another note, we'd like to say that
communication was excellent from the moment we booked you and you did
everything you could to make our day special and just what we wanted.
Every suggestion, however odd, was met with genuine enthusiasm. Liam,
your drummer, bent over backwards to accommodate our rather unusual
request and our friends and family will never forget the trauma of the
first waltz skipping and screeching to a halt and 20 of us breaking into
Jai Ho. I add that here in case anyone else is thinking about merging
songs, so they know whom to contact. We loved your playlist and the new
dances were amazing fun, I remember kicking off my shoes and squealing
like a 5 year old , some of the boys doing press-ups during the Dashing
White Seargent, the competition for the best “bouncing” technique during
the Flying Scotsman resulting in some dodgy but energetic moves amongst
the boys and the frantic organised chaos that was the Orcadian Strip the
Willow. When you think the crowd included folk from India, Argentina,
Australia, New Zealand and the States, it was no mean feat to get them
so completely involved! It was all just so much fun :-)
Thanks to you and the
band again. Can't say enough how much we enjoyed it :-) Keep us posted
on any events you might have :-) We would have no hesitation in
recommending you to anyone, whatever type of ceilidh they may wish - one
of my friends who was at the wedding has already booked you for her
wedding in October and is delighted she has.
Take care and Best
Wishes from all of us
love Prasima and Wayne
What a
night!! Words actually fail me at this moment, I am still high as a kite
from the evening.
Ceilidh
Stomp absolutely made it the best night of all of our lives, bar none.
We have had so much feedback already from everyone about how much fun
they had, how much they enjoyed it and how they felt so much part of the
whole experience. This was totally borne out by the fact that the 10
o'clock minibus hired for the oldies and the non-dancers left totally
EMPTY!! When I asked the Rabbi's wife if she wanted to leave, she
replied by looking me right in the eye and saying in her yankee accent,
"You have got to be joking! Of course we're not going..." I
myself couldn't even get onto the floor for 3 of the dances, there were
so many people already there.
Your instructions were clear and your demonstrations were
hot;
there is nothing more inspiring than seeing a woman kick off her heels,
grab the lead hand and run at a good lick with a snake-line of 6
people behind you in and out of tight spaces in the line-ups.
The guest list included a former advisor to the UK government for
agriculture, a former chairman of the Royal Agricultural Society, a few
OBEs, a film director from Hollywood, a writer, several eminent doctors
and a few powerful lawyers from New York. Oh yes, and I was there too,
and yes I did accept all of the glory for the success of the night!!
They all took part and all left totally worn out and invigorated from
the work-out. Finally, to your credit, at least half of them didn't
really know what a ceilidh was all about and now they are experts. We
have already passed on your website to 2 parties so far and I am
expecting a couple of other enquiries in the near future.
We have had so much feedback from all of our guests about how much they
enjoyed it. And my youngest daughter has already stated that
CeilidhStomp will be playing at her wedding. After all, she has to think
about it, because
she caught the bouquet!!
Joe Fraser, 5th May 2010Thank you so much for playing at Kirstie's 18th party on Friday.
We were all slightly concerned that the teenagers would not
dance but we could not have been more wrong. From the word go
the floor was full of teenagers having a really great time and a
few olds joining in as well. (We also appreciated you telling
them to drink lots of water.) Clare did a great job calling the
dances and also reading the mood of the party. We all had such a
great evening and are so glad that we decided to have a ceilidh.
Everyone was kept entertained, lots of energy was burnt off and
there was a lot of noise. All age groups from 3-60 years were
happy for four hours and both Kirstie's brothers want a repeat
performance for their 18th parties. We cannot thank you enough
and will be telling everyone about you (just hope you are free
when we need you next!). Many thanks, Kirstie & the rest of
the Howard Family

Drumoak-Durris Church held a Family Ceilidh on Saturday 24th
April in the Kirkton of Durris Hall. Music was provided by
Ceilidh Stomp, considered to be one of the best ceilidh bands in
Aberdeen and on that night there was no disagreement to that
claim! Clare, Liam, Lucy, Bryan and Dougie kept us going until
the night was over - too soon for many. When needed Clare gave a
run through of the steps but there were enough people who knew
the dances to be able to help those who didn't. Gay Gordons,
Canadian Barn Dance, the Witches' Reel, Military Two Step,
Dashing White Sergeant, Highland Scottische, Scottish Waltz - we
did them all and others. To test our fitness levels, we did a
Hooligans Jig, which has been described as "legalised GBH". The
Orcadian style Strip the Willow is good training for a rugby
match, or shopping in Aberdeen when the January sales begin.
This was just a super evening and something we'll do again - be
there!

Great! Fantastic! Brilliant! Best ceilidh I have ever been to!
These were just some of the comments I received at the end of
the evening. I have spoken to people who have never danced at a ceilidh before but who on the night were never off the dance
floor. Praise was given to me for every aspect of the ceilidh;
from how clear the directions for the dances were to the fact
that no dance was repeated and that there were dances with which
people were unfamiliar but now love and can't wait to try again.
I myself have never been to a ceilidh which was so well received
and where so many people joined in. It was a fabulous evening
and I cannot give enough praise to Ceilidh Stomp. I would have
no hesitation in recommending Ceilidh Stomp to anyone who was
going to hold a ceilidh. I look forward to booking them again
for our next function.
Gabrielle Berry, Banchory PTA
Clare, thank you for both the ceilidh and your response. The band
is top notch and I would be prepared to vouch for you at any
opportunity. Everyone had a top night! Keep in touch and please
keep me on your mailing list.
Warm regards
Ron
Thanks Clare and all of you at Ceilidh Stomp for making my 21st so
great! You're a great band and fantastic to dance to! We had
such a laugh and we made so much noise!
Thanks again!
Katie
Although we had a small dance floor it didn't stop us from having
an excellent night - you did well to make the band heard over our hollerin'
and shoutin' and you made our French friends welcome by calling
the dances in French! What else do you do at the end of a good
day's rugby but have a great ceilidh? Thanks for a great night -
loved the Virginia Reel by the way!
Tim
That was the best wedding I've ever been to! Phenomenal
evening! Hooligan's Jig was a blast - we were too pissed to
understand what a straight line was by that time!
Simone (from England)Hi there, Anette and I would
just like to thank you all so much for making our civil
partnership celebration such a success. Everybody enjoyed
themselves and a lot have said how much they enjoyed the band.
Some have even said that it was the best wedding ceilidh they'd
ever been to! Wishing you all the success and we hope to hear you
playing again,
Kind regards, Fiona and Anette
Our thanks to you and the band for a brilliant Ceilidh. Our
fears that only a few would dance were utterly unfounded.
The feed back from family and friends was that it was a
fantastic evening and, though we must dash to go off on
honeymoon, we'll sing your praises on your website as soon as we
get back.
A friend is already speaking of booking you for his 40th
birthday next year!
Thanks again and all the success for the future.

Ceilidh Stomp played at our wedding on the 8th December '07.
We only had 36 to the reception and many of them had never
encountered Ceilidh music let alone any of the dances before.
Clare's wonderful and patient calling coupled with the fantastic
music had our dance floor filled all night. Thank you Ceilidh
Stomp for making our reception a wonderful evening, with the
comment from many of the guests that it was the best wedding they
had ever been to.......!!
Simon and Marcia Thanks very much for an amazing night!
Such a wide variety of tunes and dances - new and old! Got
everybody is such high spirits and I don't think there was a
single person that didn't dance at least once!
The feedback from everybody was very positive, and hopefully I
will get the opportunity to hire you guys out again!
Thanks again,
Sam
Thanks to Clare and the band for
a wonderful night. The music was fantastic and the
calling brilliant thereby ensuring that veterans and novices
alike could dance the night away (in fact no one could
stop). I have had so much feedback over the last 2 days
ranging from "Wow, what a terrific night" to "I haven't
laughed so much in years" to "One of the best ceilidhs
ever". You gave us the chance to leave Aberdeen in style!
Linda (May 17th 2008)
Thank you very much for providing such beautiful ceilidh
music during the 110th Philippine Independence Day last
Saturday. Everyone had a great time and people have been
asking how to get in touch with you. The Filipino Community
truly applaud your ceilidh band. Hopefully next time, I
won't be organising & performing our traditional dances so I
can be there on the dance floor! Looking forward to the next
time!
Roda
Thank you for your
wonderful contribution to our Anniversary Celebration last
Saturday. Our family and friends all said how perfect
your music was for the dancing and we, Marion and I, know
how difficult it is to maintain the enthusiasm and fervour
for the whole evening. You did this with great
professionalism.
A big thank you for your
efforts and we hop you continue to provide this splendid
service for many years to come!
Yours aye, Viv and Marion
Ceilidh Stomp played at our wedding
reception on 4 October '08. All our
guests agreed that they were
absolutely brilliant! Clare was
an excellent caller, helping all the
ceilidh novices get involved - even
a few of the little kids were up on
the dance floor following the
moves! The band were also extremely
accommodating in allowing the
groom's little sister to join in on
the fiddle for part of the evening.
We found Ceilidh Stomp at a friend's
wedding the year before ours and we
wouldn't hesitate to recommend the
band to anyone who wants a lively,
fun wedding reception - or any other
event!
A big thank you to Clare and the
rest of the band for helping to make
our wedding reception an
unforgettable evening!
Clare & Jamie
Dear
Ceilidh Stomp - thank you all so
very much for attending our wedding
day on Saturday, March 7th
2009. We had an unbelievable day
which was made all the more
enjoyable by your presence.
When
we started planning our wedding, we
knew (after seeing you at a previous
function) that there was no-one else
we wanted to have help with the
dancing. My father said at that time
"It's important to have great music:
the music either makes or breaks a
wedding!" No pressure! You guys
really did make the day extra
special! All our guests commented on
how perfect our special day was and
they all mentioned how awesome the
band was and how right they were!
With love and great appreciation,
always, Yvonne & Andy Green
Ceilidh Stomp were a great choice as
a wedding ceilidh band and performed
a wide range of ceilidh dances with
lively instrumentals and excellent
calling, which was invaluable both
for the first-time dancers and those
who should know better but couldn't
quite remember the finer points!
Clare and the band were very
friendly and went out of their way
to ensure they played the tunes we
wanted, including our grand finale
of Auld Lang Syne followed by The
Proclaimers! We had a brilliant
evening and our guests threw
themselves into the dancing with
much gusto thanks to the many great
tunes played. Matt's Dad, a ceilidh
novice from Devon, loved every
minute, couldn't stop tapping his
feet and can't wait to get back to
Scotland for more dancing! Louise
& Matt
Thanks so much for the ceilidh you
provided at our wedding . We all had
a great time, including a few folk
who had never 'ceilidhed' before and
now can't wait to go to another! The
patience and excellent calling of
dances definately inspired those new
to a ceilidh to give it a go. The
only complaint of the whole night
was that it ended as we would have
all danced well into the morning had
you kept going!! Neale Harrison

Ceilidh Stomp played at our
wedding at Aswanley on the 17th July 2010. Their high-
energy performance created a fantastic atmosphere at our wedding
dance. Technically they were excellent and we
received nothing but positive comments from our guests. It was a
testament to how good they were that the dance floor was full
all night. Prior to the wedding, Clare was a delight to deal
with and her open, friendly manner made us feel like we already
knew her before we'd even met. We would not hesitate to
recommend Ceilidh Stomp to family and friends and were delighted
with the service they provided. Thanks very much Ceilidh Stomp-
you rocked our wedding :-)
Louisa and Steve Cannon
Thanks for a lovely evening - it was a pleasure to hear music from
Ireland included! Great fiddler and good sets!
Aengus (from Ireland)
We were too old to dance much but we stayed because we loved your
music. Thanks for a terrific Burns Night here in Inverurie!
We were with friends from all over the world to celebrate Hogmanay
in Scotland and we just loved your music. The way you helped us
to understand the dances was clear and although we hadn't ever
done any Scottish dancing before we had a really great time! Well
done - come visit us in Dubai!
Catriona (from Dubai)
Corporate functions can be a little dull but boy, as visitors from
the US of A we had a great time! Loved the Virginia Reel, but
then I would!
Dave (from Houston)
Dear Ceilidh
Stomp, thank you very much for making our birthday bash a
fantastic night, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I
would definitely use Ceilidh Stomp again and recommend them to
everyone, look forward to seeing you again in the not too distant
future.

"Absolutely fantastic band, they did a
brilliant job and we've immediately booked them for our ball next
year!"
Hamilton School, Aberdeen As Craig's parents can we thank
you most sincerely for making Craig and Natalie's day such a
wonderful success. We all had great fun dancing well-known
dances as well as learning some new ones. You were recommended
to Craig and Natalie and in turn we are delighted to recommend you
to others. Many thanks once again.

Ceilidh Stomp made my fortieth birthday weekend a whirling,
foot stomping, hoochin and teuchin success from the minute the
band struck up til their third encore 4 and half hours later,
I couldn't keep my friends off the floor! Out of 75 guests
only about 5 had ever been to Scotland before far less ever
danced a reel, but with the devilish music and masterful
instruction it was deil tak' the hindmost and on we
ran....Truly excellent - an experience my friends from around
the world are still yabbering on about! Many thanks Ceilidh
Stomp!
Alasdair
 Hi there,
This is much delayed note of thanks for a fantastic ceilidh on
our wedding day in August 2007. Despite severals delays to the
schedule you did not grumble and proceeded to play without any
warm up time - everyone admits that you sounded fantastic! On
behalf of my wife and our guests thank you for such a great
night's entertainment- would not hesitate to recommend you!

Wedding on 4th August 2007
We had a great day and all of our friends and family had a
wonderful time too. Everyone thought the band were superb and
really made the evening go with a bang (even me who is known as
the musical fascist!). We will recommend you to anyone we know
looking for a ceilidh band. Thank you so much.
Michael and Grace
Excellent direction from the lead singer with a perfect backing
band provided an enjoyable and entertaining evening of lively
ceilidh dancing. Enjoyed by all those who dared to try!
Thea, SPE
Event Manager
Ceilidh Stomp were fantastic from start to finish. The
musicians were top quality and they were able to ensure that
the dance floor was packed from start to finish. I was
particularly impressed at the 'calling' of dances during the
evening - many of the guests were from England and had never
experience Ceilidh dancing before, but each dance was
explained simply and they were able to pick it up quickly.
All of this resulted in an extremely enjoyable evening and I
received numerous comments on the night and since saying how
impressed everyone was with the band. Thanks Clare and the
rest of Ceilidh Stomp for making it such a fun-packed
evening!!
Simon & Sam
Just wanted to
thank you and the band for playing at our wedding. We had a
fantastic time and everyone I've spoken to really enjoyed
the ceilidh. Thanks to your excellent calling of the dances
I don't think there were too many casualties on the dance
floor! Great success! We all had a great time and we
wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ceilidh Stomp to anyone who
asks! Thanks again!
Vicky and
Neil
Just to say a big THANK YOU for making my wee brother's wedding all
the more special on 7 March '09! For me, it was lovely that I knew
you & such a nice surprise (& what a coincidence!), but it was
universally agreed that you were a fantastic band & really made the
night. Andy & Yvonne made an excellent choice. Everyone knows the
band can make or break a wedding, but it's very rare a band can make
as much impact as you guys did as last weekend. Your hard work,
musicianship & talent were so appreciated (& thank GOODNESS Clare
was as good at calling!). You were not only playing a wedding, you
were creating memories.
Thank you so much, best wishes,
Esther
Thank you for organising a fantastic ceilidh for our
wedding. Having a band with a good caller was a real bonus. Most of
our guests had never attended a ceilidh before and loved every
minute of it. They are now trying to figure out how to introduce
reels to the locals of Lincolnshire. It was great to have a wedding
dance where everyone got on the dance floor together. It wasn’t
‘uncool’ to dance with your auntie and we even spotted an eight year
old attempting to ‘strip the willow’ with an eighty year old. The
whole family had a great night and the children kept dancing right
through to midnight. The Aberdeenshire locals even learned a few new
dances. We have already recommended you to friends and hope to
attend another event where you are playing in the near future.
Ali & Richard Kennedy
We had a fantastic
day and the band and the music helped finish things off. The dances
gave us all a good workout after our meal. My niece (aged 8) wrote
in the visitors book " Thank you to the band lady I had a Fantastic
time" and I don't think she missed many of the dances! Brian
Harrison
Dear Clare and
the rest of the gang! I would like to thank you so much for the
fantastic evening of entertainment you gave us on the night of our
wedding! ALL of our guests commented on how good you were, and
everyone had a ball. We loved that you did new dances and got
everyone up and giving them a go! I certainly wouldn't hesitate
recommending you to anyone. I had no problems communicating with you
before the wedding either, which meant a seamless, hassle free
night. Thank you again for a wonderful evening, it finished off our
perfect day. Claire and Chris Sabiston
The band did you
proud and were fantastic! Everyone, (and I mean everyone) commented
on how good they were, particularly my family from England who have
never tried Ceilidh dancing before. They loved it and most were up
dancing the whole night. Thank you so much for arranging the evening
and please pass on our appreciation to the rest of the band, the
whole day was absolutely perfect. Many thanks and best wishes,
Adam & Sophie
A
really superb band that had our wedding guests dancing all night.
Great fun, great music and Clare's a great caller! Thanks for
helping to make our day so special. Ruth &
Chris Yuill
Fergus and I would like to thank you
all very much for playing beautifully at our wedding. Your music is
very upbeat and clear and you look like you really enjoyed playing.
Our families and friends said the sound and the calling were
perfect! Despite the floods, diversions and lack of organisation on
our part in giving you advice on how to get to the venue, you still
managed to get there in time. You were fantastic! Best wishes to
Ceillidh Stomp. I will tell everybody all about you!
Katherine & Fergus

After all the wedding
celebrations we have not been in
touch to thank you again for such a
fantastic ceilildh. It was a really
great evening and exactly what we
hoped for. We've had so many friends
comment on what a great band you are
- one of my worries before the day
with quite a small crowd would be
that not enough people would be
dancing but your lively music and
calling created a really fantastic
atmosphere and we really enjoyed the
dancing. We also really liked the
sets you played, especially the more
unusual dances which were great to
try and our friends really enjoyed
them. It was also great to have
several Strip the Willows - I know
it was an unusual request to have
that as a first dance but I like to
think it ended up as a (tiring(!))
success and most importantly Doug
and I did not have to do our dodgy
dancing....!
Christina & Douglas 25th May 2009
On behalf of Marie and myself, I would like to thank you and the
band for a brilliant night of Ceilidh music on Saturday 3 October at
Glen Tanar and especially for adapting so well to the power cut. All
our guests commented that they had a wonderful time and have
specifically mentioned that the band was superb. I could not praise
Ceilidh Stomp highly enough and would thoroughly recommend you to
anyone in need of a band. Thanks again for a wonderful night’s
entertainment on our wonderful wedding day. We wish you and the band
much success in the future. It is certainly deserved. Marie and
Doug Shaw
Ceilidh Stomp were fabulous at our
wedding. The music was lively, fun
and fantastic. The band and caller
were brilliant at getting everyone
up dancing and helping people who
didn't know what they were doing to
have a go and have fun. People have
since commented to me how good the
band was. Thank you so much for
helping to make our day so easy and
so much fun. It was a pleasure
dealing with you. Lizzie & John
Just wanted to say another BIG
thank you for playing at the Ceilidh
on Saturday night. We’ve had lots of
feedback from people saying how good
the band are and how well you talked
everyone through the dances.
Personally, I’d like to say that
I thought you are a top notch
ceilidh band with exceptional
musicians and sound, but the talent
of your members is surpassed by how
nice you all are and how helpful
you’ve been with advice in
organising the event. Thank you
again – we’ll definitely be using
you again as soon as we get the
chance and recommending you to
anyone who is looking for a band.
